Service Dog Foundation
Fourteen lessons to set your dog up for success as a service dog.
The Nitty Gritty
This private lesson package is meant for puppies between the ages of 8 weeks old to 6 months old, with disabled owners who are in need of a service dog. Lessons will be focusing on socializing and desensitizing to public spaces, obedience training, setting the foundation for certain tasks, and building a solid relationship between the handler and working dog. Criteria: Owner must have a disability that can be benefited by a service dog. Owner must have a puppy with the right temperament for service dog training or a litter of puppies that can be temperament tested from either a breeder or a rescue. Puppy must be a breed, or breed mix, that will be able to perform the desired tasks needed for the owner. Puppy must be in good health and evenly tempered for training. Completing these lessons is not a guarantee your puppy will be able to become a service dog, however it is a foundation and starting point for owner trainers with the goal of having a service dog. Being a service dog is not meant for every dog. Many components go into a service dog and not all will be able to complete the necessary training due to health problems, temperament problems, and/or lack of working drive. Payment plans available upon request. For more information, please contact me by phone.text, or email.
